Paul Connolly (music publisher)
Paul Connolly is the president of Universal Music Publishing Group in Europe and the UK.
==Career==
Connolly joined the company, then known as MCA Music, in 1988 rising to become its A&R director in 1991 and managing director in 1994. In 1997, he took on the additional role of vice president of MCA Music International and in 1999 he was appointed executive vice president Europe and managing director UK of the newly formed Universal Music Publishing following the merger with Polygram Music Publishing. He was appointed president for Europe and UK, Universal Music Publishing, in 2005, and joined the board of the Music Publishers Association (MPA) in the same year. He has grown to be one of the most established men in music, with his long standing record of being head for 20 years.
In 2006, Connolly headed the European aspects of the €1.63bn acquisition and successful integration of BMG Music Publishing, which transformed Universal Music Publishing Group into the number one publisher globally.
